It’s Sunday Scripture Time ~ Psalm34:18 NLT

“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescues those whose spirits are crushed.”

Throughout the day, remember to think about and pray for those who are grieving. And if you are the one who is grieving at this time, know that I am praying for you. As always, remember to TRUST Him with your life (including your hurts)!

Sayings, Suggestions & Something Else I’ve Learned ~ “Remembrance Stones”

As we take the time this weekend to remember and honor those who served and died for our country, I am reminded of a sermon I heard years ago. It was Memorial Day weekend and the Pastor on the radio began talking about the Israelites and how they crossed over the Jordan River. He said that they set up Remembrance Stones to show future generations what the Lord had done for them.

I took that message home and with excitement, presented an idea to my family. Every Memorial Day, we spend some time remembering all that God has done throughout the year. How do we do this? Our Family Thankful Wall! Throughout the year, from Memorial Day to Memorial Day, we draw pictures (yes, all of us) about things that have taken place that we are thankful about. We tape the pictures on a blank wall in the kitchen for all to see. When we get down during the year or become grumpy or have a complaining spirit, we go to the Thankful Wall to remind ourselves what God has done for us. On Memorial Day, we take all the pictures down, go through them and put them in a binder. The wall is blank again and we start all over.

The binder: It’s to show future generations what God has done in our lives and to remind them that God is faithful. So as our children grow up and move on, we plan on giving them the binders to share with their children our Family “Remembrance Stones.”

I hope you’ve enjoyed this Saturday Suggestion!

Happy Saturday, y’all and God Bless those who are serving our country and the families of those who have lost loved ones!
